The annual contest is sponsored by the Los Angeles Times in Education, Los Angeles Lakers Youth Foundation, and Anthem Blue Cross Foundation.
This year's competition emphasized living a healthy and active lifestyle in order to succeed in achieving long-term goals (examples were Lakers superstars Pao Gasol and Kobe Bryant). Belen, Sandra, and their AP Language and Composition instructor, Ms. Wiggins, attended an Awards Luncheon held in the Chandler Auditorium on March 30th. The girls received t-shirts, Lakers game tickets, and cash prizes. POLAHS congratulates Belen and Sandra on a job well done!
